Stock/inventory update

Many companies struggle to maintain accurate information about their stock holdings. Knowing exactly what is on the shelf, which items are obsolete and more importantly, quantities of high volume items (fast moving goods) are a constant source of frustration to any warehouse manager.

The introduction of scanning as items enter and leave a company/warehouse, means that inventory records can be automatically updated. Used alongside other supply chain processes such as JIT (Just In Time), CPFR (Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment) and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) it enables more efficient stock management. For example when stock of a particular product diminishes to a pre-defined amount, an order is automatically placed with the supplier, without any human intervention or manual checking.

Benefits:

  • Inventory updated automatically
  • Lower levels of stock
  • Improved stock visibility
  • Fewer order defects and obsolete stock
  • Better use of space and resources
