Components of GDS
Global Data Synchronisation (GDS) is a process that helps retailers, foodservice operators and suppliers improve the flow of accurate product data through the supply chain.
GS1 has developed a set of standards and a framework for this called GDSN (Global Data Synchronization Network).
GDSN-certified data pools, are standards compliant product catalogues that provide the means for trading partners to synchronize and exchange their product data.
There are three key elements that together make up the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN).
1. Standards
2. Data pools
3. The GS1 Global Registry
