Data preparation
In order to prepare your data for Global Data Synchronisation (GDS) you need to first understand your trading partners’ GDS data requirements
Retailers' or foodservice operators' GDS data requirements are a subset of the agreed GDS standards. You can obtain their specific requirements from the GS1 UK Data Pool or your data pool provider.
This will help you understand the information you need to collate within your business in order to start delivering data to your trading partners via the Global Data Synchronisation Network (GDSN).
It is also important that you have an internal data governance process so that the right people in the business are approving the relevant information before the data is published to your trading partners.
